Subjects

It is the mission of the Joint Association of Classical Teachers to represent the interests of various subject areas. JACT has four subject Committees:

Latin
Greek
Classical Civilisation
Ancient History

These Committees provide support for teachers in terms of advice and resources. They also liase with the Examination Boards and respond to any issues which arise in their particular subject field.

Latin

The Latin Committee is chaired by Mr Simon Carr and meets twice a year.

Greek

The Secretary of the Greek Committee is Dr John Taylor and the Chair is Prof. David Langslow.

Ancient History

The Ancient History Committee is chaired by Professor Michael Whitby and currently meets once each autumn.

Classical Civilisation

The Classical Civilisation Committee is Chaired by Dr John Wilkins and the Secretary is Dr Tim Leary.
