YG&T Success Stories: Call for contributions

Your chance to shout about what you do and how it makes a difference for Gifted & Talented learners.

At the YG&T Learner Academy we are constantly looking for examples of how you work successfully with gifted and talented learners so that we can share them with others.

As part of our approach to ensuring that we have the best examples of current practice on our site we will be issuing calls for contributions on a regular basis. We would love to hear from anybody involved in the education of gifted and talented young people. That includes learners and their parents/carers as well as YG&T providers, school and college staff, Local Authorities, Regional Partnerships, governors and Excellence Hubs.

Each of the calls for contributions that we issue will focus on a number of specific topics (linked to the National Quality Standards). This is our first call for contributions and we would like you to share how you have successfully:

  • Developed effective provision in the classroom
  • Enabled curriculum entitlement and choice
  • Utilised assessment for learning to improve provision

Your success story may be about one of these topics or it might touch on them all.

What kind of things do we want to know?

This is your chance to shout about what you do and how it makes a difference for G&T learners. We are looking for clearly written practical examples of successful approaches to delivering and supporting G&T provision as well as audio and video examples. A good success story should provide the audience with enough information to inspire them to try something similar or to find out more by getting in touch.

Want to find out more? Go to http://ygt.dcsf.gov.uk/Content.aspx?contentId=765&contentType=4

It would be great to know how your learners experienced the project as well so perhaps you could also ask young people to write a Student Voice success story. To read, see or hear their story could inspire another gifted and talented learner. A separate template has been developed specifically for student voice contributions.
